Art in public spaces
exhibitions, art installations & public events
Good people specialises in creating exhibitions, art installations and events in public spaces. We curate unique engagements that foster dialogue and leave a lasting impact on diverse audiences, ranging from large cities to remote villages. Since 2017, we have produced and installed over 80 projects in city centre squares, universities, festivals, museums and urban streets.
Our designs aim to engage, provoke thought and motivate audiences, serving the purpose of creating awareness, educating, providing perspectives, and prompting reflection and discussion on sensitive societal and democratic policy issues. The art we produce serves as a window, offering passers-by and visitors insight into topics that may be otherwise inaccessible or lesser known.
While art in galleries or museums typically reaches a smaller audience, placing art in public spaces allows us to reach a broader spectrum of people, including those who may not usually visit traditional exhibition venues. Art in public spaces is accessible 24/7 and can be strategically located where large audiences congregate or pass through, maximising its impact.

why public spaces
Art in public spaces holds a unique power to make a difference by engaging with people in their everyday environments. Unlike traditional art venues like galleries or museums, public spaces offer an immersive and accessible platform for artistic expression that can captivate diverse, large audiences.
Firstly, art in public spaces breaks down barriers to access. It’s free and available to everyone, regardless of socio-economic background or cultural upbringing. This accessibility allows art to reach a broader and more diverse audience, including individuals who may not feel comfortable or have the means to visit traditional art institutions.
Secondly, public art has the potential to spark unexpected encounters and interactions. Whether it’s a thought-provoking sculpture in a park or a vibrant mural on a city wall, public art can surprise and delight passers-by, prompting them to pause, reflect and engage with their surroundings in new ways. These spontaneous interactions create shared experiences and foster a sense of community among people from different walks of life.
Moreover, art in public spaces has the power to transform the environment itself. By reimagining ordinary spaces with artistic interventions, public art can breathe new life into neglected areas, beautify urban landscapes, and evoke a sense of pride and identity within communities. Whether it’s through temporary installations or permanent landmarks, public art has the ability to shape the physical and emotional landscape of cities and neighbourhoods.
Additionally, public art often addresses social, human rights, democracy and environmental issues in a way that resonates with the public consciousness. By placing it in the public realm, art can amplify important messages, raise awareness about pressing issues and provoke critical dialogue. Whether it’s advocating for social justice, environmental sustainability, or cultural heritage, public art has the potential to inspire action and drive positive change.
In essence, art in public spaces communicates differently from traditional venues by reaching a wider audience, fostering spontaneous interactions, transforming urban environments, and addressing pressing societal issues. Its ability to engage, provoke and inspire makes it a powerful tool for creating meaningful connections and shaping collective experiences in our shared public spaces.
